This is a pretty awesome song.... It goes pretty deep, originally it was just a really fun ska-core jam that we played at practice and we just used to yell "Georrrrge Washington!... Took a shit in my coat!" and that was the extent of it, but we did write most of the chord progression/song structure at a practice right around new years 2008. After Max Moon quit the band the first time, Robby went ahead and made a few demos of it and wrote the lyrics. It is mostly about typical teenager struggles with money, people you know flirting with suicide, doing dope and constant reminders from your family and friends that you ARE struggling, telling you what to do and all you want is to escape.
Moral of the story, keep on fighting.
This track appeared on a few compilations (including the lead track on the UNF 2008 Comp where AP played their festival in August, 2008)
lyrics
George Washington
Took the words from my mouth
Stolen I lost again
My disguise in the fight
It might've took a while but you found a way to get away
the way that I thought you'd say its like a cheap way to imitate
Another day goes by and you still have got no place to call your home
and I won't save you
Hide all the time and you contemplate suicide
and nobody's gonna take the blame for evil thoughts on your mind
I can't think straight
Don't push it in my face
Eight years have passed the things you said were true
I tried to laugh again but your words stuck like glue
give me a drug so I can think of someone else
and I won't save you
Lie all the time and then you save your ass just in time
Til the shit hits the fan and you are caught on the scene of the crime
I can't think straight
Don't push it in my face
