I wrote this at the beginning of 2008 while I was going through a lot of issues with people in the band wayyy before anyone who was recording on this album were involved. I know Atomic Potato is a dumb name for a band but that is what I picked and I was going to stick with it, I was very stubborn. I am a stickler for consistency and I felt like we were going to 'blow up' locally (Get it?) but I also had a lot of problems with some people and promoters at venues and in other bands, this is the real start of the 'struggle'. Heavily influenced by the Sublime, the Arrogant Sons of Bitches and the Streetlight Manifesto.
lyrics
Everybody come on down to see the ska show
And hit the dance floor while the music plays don't waste my time.
It might be faster and you might say its unoriginal
But I'll keep doing this until the day I die
The harmonizing melodies of a church choir gone mad
Theres anger dwelled inside of me
I'm gonna face you now I'm gonna take the blame
Oh what a shame...
How do you explain?
Woahhhhhh
YOU WANT TO change the scene
BUT I DON'T WANT TO feed the corporate machine
1, 2 , 3 and now its all on me
I hate the way you tell me this is "how its gonna be"
LOOK INTO my eyes
and if you stare into them long enough you'll find a big surprise now
You can finally see
The reason for me.
Everybody come on down to see the punk show
Basement filled lets mosh and shout its
Not a fucking crime
It might be louder and you might say its unprofessional
But I'll keep doing this until
The day I die
Someone called the cops another noise complaint
now this house is just a home
A couple stupid kids with no future
I'm gonna face you now I'm gonna take the blame
Headache in my brain
how do you explain?
Its not enough I need to scream I can't express my feelings but
I WANT TO change the scene
BUT I DON'T WANT TO feed the corporate machine
1, 2 , 3 and now its all on me
I hate the way you tell me this is "how its gonna be"
LOOK INTO my eyes
If you stare into them long enough you'll find a big surprise now
You can finally see
The reason for me!
